This article makes me want to do something. As an experiment. I want to eat my own clone now. It won’t be without adequate safeguards or the consent of the other me, but it’d be hard to check myself from going ahead if the consent was not given.

We’d be sitting there watching the pound of flesh getting cooked, having a conversation about the legality of the whole cloning shit. He’d argue about its legitimacy and of course if he did that, I’d take the opposite side. He obviously couldn’t argue much because he’d have lost a great deal of blood after generously donating that pound of body tissue for our dinner. In normal circumstances, perhaps I’d have sewed him up, but since he’s my clone, I’d refrain from doing that just to see how long he could hold it out. I’m sure he’d do pretty well without any medical assistance. Of course, I’d just give him a hanky or something to tie himself up and not to spoil the carpet with his dripping cloned blood.

It’d be quite an experience eating a part of myself in the form of my clone, who’d be sitting on the other side of the dining table. We’d both act as if it was just an ordinary dinner though it’d be a hard task. I’d ask him for a second helping naturally. It would do us no good to throw away the prized dinner. It could also be disturbing on certain counts. My mind would be all fucked up then, I know it even now. I’d most probably be thinking of which part of him to cook next if I found the food(?) tasty.

But would it amount to cannibalism? Would it amount to human torture? Would that make me a reincarnation of Shylock? Wasn’t my clone after all, just a copy of myself? Wasn’t he me without my personality? Would he have a soul? If so, would it go to heaven or hell? Would it go anywhere at all? Would God take it back considering it wasn’t his creation after all? Why would he want to provide after sales service for something he didn’t manufacture at all? So, does it mean that the soul would come back to me? In what form? And what would I do with it? Could I just imprison it in a bottle or a lamp? Would it serve me like Aladdin’s genie did him?

I guess I’ll have to wait for some more time till my clone actually gets ready. And pray hard that he doesn’t get the same idea as me. That’d be so gory by all accounts and highly disloyal on his part.
